Portland, Ore., February 17 2011 – Starting this spring, LOGICARE Corporation will offer its hospital customers the ability to send patient discharge instructions via Kryptiq’s Secure Messaging technology. Secure Messaging will help LOGICARE customers meet key components of the Meaningful Use requirements, significantly reduce the time and expense of sending complicated patient discharge summaries, and deliver better patient service with one click.

LOGICARE builds systems for emergency departments, clinics and hospitals that enable staff to create personalized and precise discharge instructions and patient education documents. In less than 90 seconds, the systems create unique documents by pulling from over 7,000 pieces of information about medications, diagnoses, wellness, diet, medical devices, follow-up and more.

With Kryptiq’s Secure Messaging technology, hospitals using LOGICARE’s Patient Instructions V8 can send a secure email to the patient’s email inbox, personal health record or patient portal, depending on the hospital’s existing system. The secure message model can also help facilities meet the Meaningful Use criteria for timely, electronic access to copies of patients’ health information and clinical summaries.

“We are happy to be working with Kryptiq – for their technology and their business approach,” said David P. Elvig, M.D., LOGICARE CEO and founder. “We’re able to integrate LOGICARE’s clinical and patient-oriented applications with Kryptiq’s Secure Messaging infrastructure to create smooth and simple workflows.”

LOGICARE customers are finding that the workflow with secure messaging is much simpler than, for instance, sending patients to the medical records department for a copy of their instructions. Unlike other electronic patient documents required by Meaningful Use, discharge instructions must be available at the time of discharge.

Because of the ability to integrate Kryptiq’s Secure Messaging across its product offerings, LOGICARE will be able to deliver the new service within the existing workflows of all of their customers.

“We share LOGICARE’s belief that software has to be designed from the perspective of the customer,” said Kryptiq CEO Luis Machuca. “With Secure Messaging, LOGICARE is helping their customers successfully align consumer expectations with profitability and Meaningful Use requirements.”
